JEMA was an important residence and hub for artists, designers and scholars in Montreal between 2009-2018. Its mission was to provide 4500 sq ft of live-work studio space to an international and local community. It sought to support residents in their field of work and foster increased creative output and exchange.

JEMA's name is inspired by JEanne MAnce,  co-founder of Montreal and also the name of the street where our space was located.

JEMA a été une importante résidence et un centre pour artistes, designers et chercheurs à Montréal entre 2009 et 2018. Sa mission était de fournir 4500 pieds carrés d'espace de travail et de studio à la communauté internationale et locale. Elle visait à soutenir les résidents dans leurs domaines de travail et à favoriser la production créative et les échanges.

Le nom JEMA est inspiré par JEanne MAnce,  co-fondatrice de Montréal, et le nom de la rue où se situait notre espace.
